JEREMY Corbyn fanatics are ranting on Facebook that Russian spies named by police as being responsible for the Salisbury Novichok attack are "made up".

Alexander Petrov and Ruslan Boshirov have now been revealed as the pair responsible for making an attempt on the life of Sergei and Yulia Skirpal.

Prime Minister Theresa May later revealed that the pair are linked to the Russian military intelligence service, also known as the GRU.

However across social media hard leftists have claimed the botched hit on March 4 this year was a "false flag" operation and have cast doubt on evidence shared by the police on Wednesday.

The incident, Corbynistas claim, was orchestrated by the government to undermine the Labour leader and distract from the Conservative's perceived shortcomings.

And The Sun Online has seen a series of bizarre posts across two popular pro-Corbyn groups in which users claim: "Anyone who believes the Tory narrative on the Novichok issue is an absolute imbecile."

Other comments from various users include...

"The Tories desperately do need a distraction from all their many problems that's not a conspiracy just a fact. After Blair and Iraq's WMDs [...] it is possible for the intelligence services to serve the sitting government in order to provide what they need you to accept as truth."

"I encourage people to think outside the box and not to readily accept 'facts' when they are provided by the government [...]. The Tories are using this to deflect from other more important issues."

"The Tories made this up as a distraction from their failure in EU negotiations."

"Just focus on the real issues like the NHS being deliberately put into crisis and firefighter crews being told to cut a person per vehicle. This is all a bull*** distraction."

"Would even the scriptwriters of CSI have their actors claim that they had identified someone, their nationality and their employer when all they had were passports with fake names and absolutely no other information about them? I doubt that they would think that their audience would go for that."

"Don’t believe everything you see on the news."

Within the Facebook group a series of pro-Russian memes and images have also been shared.

One shows a living room area having been destroyed, with a dog looking towards the camera saying: "The Russians did it!"

Another text image reads: "I see the Novichok scam is back now the antisemitic claims didn't work" - referencing the antisemitic claims that have dogged Labour in recent months.

An image shared in the group also states: "What is Novichok? ANSWER. It's something that takes the attention away from the Tories when they are in trouble."

Petrov and Boshirov - suspected to be travelling under aliases - arrived in the country at Gatwick Airport before getting a train from London to Salisbury.

Incredible CCTV footage shows the pair - who are believed to be in the 40s - smiling as they stroll through the city on the day of the Skripal attack.

They were filmed "moments before" the botched hit on March 4 and left the country hours later in a flight out of Heathrow, cops said.

It is understood Petrov and Boshirov stayed in the City Stay Hotel, Bow, East London during their time in the UK.

Cops searching their room on May 4 - almost two months after the attack in Salisbury - are said to have discovered minute traces of Novichok.

Police said Novichok was brought into Britain in a Nina Ricci ‘Premier Jour’ perfume bottle with a specially made poison applicator.

Speaking after Prime Minister's Questions on Wednesday, Mrs May told the Commons Mrs May said: “Based on a body of intelligence, the Government has concluded that the two individuals named by the police and CPS are officers from the Russian military intelligence service, also known as the GRU.”

The Kremlin hit back, with spokesman Dmitry Peskov denying any Russian role in the poisoning.
