Gutted fans rushing to stock up on the fizzy drink turned to the shopping site after shops were left bare

Several new listings of Irn-Bru have gone up on eBay. Some punters are even touting their wares as “pre sugar tax recipe”.

Cans of the sweet stuff are going for up to £38 while bottles are selling for £25.

It comes after AG Barr announced they would be halving the sugar content in the drink with a brand new recipe as a result of the sugar tax.

Devastated fans have claimed that the drink will “never taste the same again”. A petition to stop the change has gathered more than 30,000 signatures as punters vent their outrage online.

And pollsters also revealed this week that 50 per cent of Scots didn’t want the change.

Irn-Bru bosses have attempted to reassure customers that the new drink “still tastes amazing”.

Scots have less than a week to stockpile the sweet stuff before it is replaced by the sweetener-laced version.

The new recipe sees sugar content slashed by 54 per cent which means AG Barr will dodge the UK Government’s soft drink tax from April.
