A TWO-YEAR-OLD girl and a woman in her 50s were rushed to a major trauma centre today after getting hit by a car.

The pedestrians are believed to have been struck by a car that broke free from a tow truck in Bexley, SouthEast London.

The woman and child were treated at the scene and then were taken to a major trauma centre as a priority by road, a spokesperson from the London Ambulance Service confirmed.

Their condition at the time of publishing is unknown.

One incident response officer, two ambulance crews, an advanced paramedic and two single responders in cars were sent to the scene.

The London Air Ambulance was also dispatched, but it was not used.

There are reports online that the woman is the child’s mother and she was pushing her in a pram when they were both seriously injured, but police have not confirmed their relationship and that detail.

The collision was reported at 10:14am on Danson Road in Bexley.

Police were called to a serious fail to stop collision.

The driver of the tow truck did not stop at the scene, police have confirmed.

The road remains closed in both directions while police investigate into the circumstances.

No arrests have been made and enquires are ongoing.
