THE investigation into a teenage Adelaide father who vanished on the Eyre Peninsula six months ago has become a murder case, as SA Police launch a fresh search for remains on Tuesday.

Major Crime detectives will return to a 12sq km area west of Kimba on Tuesday in a bid to locate Scott Redman, who was last seen alive in April.

Redman, 19, of Holden Hill, was reported missing on April 24 by an associate who had been arrested by police.

Mr Redman’s family say police confirmed the investigation is a homicide case on Monday.

It is believed Mr Redman and the associate were in a car involved in a short police chase near Kimba on April 21.
The associate told officers he and Mr Redman, a father of twins, became separated after the pursuit.

The vehicle was found abandoned next to a radio tower on a hill of Middleback Rd, near Secret Rocks, 40kms east of Kimba.

Two days later, the associate was arrested in Whyalla after he hitchhiked from Middleback Range.

Previous searches involving police, SES and CFS volunteers near Kimba have failed to uncover any trace of Mr Redman.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
