FAMILY members of a mum and her 17-month-old daughter who have been missing for 11 days are deeply concerned about them.

Susan Green, 36, was living in Skibbereen in West Cork with her baby daughter Sinetta.

Originally from Athlone, Co Westmeath, Susan kept in touch with her family.

But since October 1, her dad and other family members have not had a call or any contact from her.

They contacted gardai in Skibbereen expressing their concerns on Wednesday and an appeal has now been made for any information which may lead to both mum and child being located.

A garda spokesperson said: “This is not a child abduction case and so does not meet the criteria for a Child Rescue Ireland Alert at this time.

“This is being treated as a missing persons investigation and we are seeking the assistance of the public in tracing them.”

Susan is described as 5′ 2″ in height with brown hair. It is not known what she and her daughter may have been wearing when they left their home in Skibbereen.

It’s not believed she has left the country.

A local source said “Susan’s family are concerned because while she would not be in touch everyday, she would keep in contact with them.

“She has been in Cork for some time and has friends and acquaintances.

“The fact that there is a young child involved is a cause for concern and all the family want is for Susan to get in touch to say they are both okay.

“We are appealing to anyone whom she may have been in contact with since the start of the month to contact gardai.

“We don’t have any information about Susan and her child that would give us cause for major concern so if she contacts us then she is free to do whatever she wants.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Clonakilty Garda Station on 023-8821570 or the Garda confidential Line 1800 666 111 or any garda station.
