COPS hunting a thug who stabbed an innocent diner have released CCTV footage of the suspect with a "distinctive walk" — who is still at large.

Greater Manchester Police say the victim was knifed multiple times in a "brutal" attack, which took place in the street outside a McDonald's in Manchester.

Detectives investigating the case say the stabbing was so severe that they're treating the incident as attempted murder.

The sickening attack on the man in his 20s took place at around 3.30am on September 5.

Cops raced to the scene after local paramedics were called to treat a man with several stab wounds at the top of his right leg.

Police appealed for witnesses to come forward in the aftermath of the assault — but no arrests have yet been made.

'BRUTAL ATTACK'
Now investigators are asking for the public to help them find the attacker, as well as a woman involved in the incident.

Detective Constable Stuart Macquiban, from Greater Manchester Police's City of Manchester Division, said: "This was a brutal attack on a young man and the injuries inflicted were so serious we are treating this as attempted murder.

"We've been doing everything we can to find the people responsible and our enquiries have identified a man and woman who we are really keen to speak to.

"The man in the footage, in particular, has a distinctive walk and we believe someone might know who he is.

"If you do recognise them, then please contact police."
