MOSCOW, March 19 (Itar-Tass) - RIA Novosti. The current head of state Vladimir Putin is gaining 76.67% of the vote in the presidential election after processing 99.75% of the ballots. This follows from the CEC data.

Putin secured a record political support for voters in his career - 54.4 million citizens voted for him, which is 5.1 million more than in 2004.

In addition, more people voted for him than for all the other candidates combined, as well as those who did not come to the polls.

The head of state congratulated the supporters on the victory in the elections and added that his team was able to show a decent result.

"It is very important to make people believe you, that people feel sincerity, that everything you say goes from the heart, sincerely, and you succeeded," he said at a meeting in the campaign headquarters.

Putin has already been congratulated by some world leaders, including Chinese President Xi Jinping, Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev, Cuban leader Raul Castro and Serbian President Alexander Vučić.
Results of other candidates

The second place belongs to the candidate from the Communist Party Pavel Grudinin from 11.79%, the third - the leader of the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia Vladimir Zhirinovsky from 5.66%.

Next comes TV presenter Ksenia Sobchak with 1.67% of votes, leader of Yabloko party Grigory Yavlinsky - 1.04%, Boris Titov received 0.75% of votes, Maxim Suraykin - 0.68%, and Sergei Baburin gave their votes of 0.65% of voters.

The elections were held on March 18.
