Very New to the Torrent Scene - I would say new to the download scene in general.. So if you could be so kind as to help me out. What would be your recommendations of sites that I can get invites for and start Torrenting.. Do I need to Purchase an Invite or Account to do this..?

General Interest Films, a bit of TV and music. The odd app. I'm not looking to download the Net but I have a nice FTTC connection and 8 TB in my server which is getting lonely. I've setup Couchpotato and it would be nice if the Tracker could link in with this.

I believe CouchPotato will only search on public torrent trackers. If you want to get in a private tracker I'd suggest (one or more of) the following: iptorrents.com, filelist.ro, torrentleech.org etc. Invites are easy to find, just check the giveaways section. Good luck!

Start with low trackers and build some buffer to gain invites, giveaway these invites to gain feedback and respect.
The more members see you working hard here and helping out then the more chance you have of gaining access to the higher level trackers.

I have a good 10mbit upload so seeding isn't going to be an issue, but how do I ensure a good ratio is built up - How do I ensure people leech off me? Any good guides out there?

Good scene tracker like scene access and IPT has lots of freeleech stuff (upload count, download not count) you can start with freeleech torrents on which you will get plenty of leechers.

Any tips on how to cross seed?

Grab fresh torrent as soon as they are released, when your new on a tracker it takes a while before you can grab the content you want, look for freeleech content the bigger the better.
Try grab fresh torrents with a high amount of leechers and low amount of seeders.

With cross seeding: try grab torrents from trackers that have fast pretimes like SCC, once you download the torrent you must be quick, look for this exact torrent on another tracker with the same name and size and download it
