WEST Coast forward Liam Ryan has returned to training following his car crash yesterday morning.

Ryan showed no signs of injury as he ran laps and then joined in the club’s training session at Subiaco Oval, appearing in good spirits.

It comes just a day after the 21-year-old crashed his car into a tree in Armadale, causing him to miss a school holiday coaching clinic and training session.

“It was a minor incident, and at the moment, we’re just trying to look after his health and wellbeing,” Simpson told Seven News.

“Our concern is with his health and making sure he’s mentally OK.

“It’s been a big transition for Liam. Playing AFL and recently having the birth of his baby daughter... so just dealing with the AFL system and all those things is something that we’re working through.”

Claims emerged yesterday that Ryan was struggling with personal issues amid his first season at AFL level.

It remains unclear whether the high-flying forward will face GWS on Sunday, with West Coast’s goalkicking power already decimated by the absence of Josh Kennedy, Jack Darling and Mark LeCras.
