FEYENOORD winger Steven Berghuis is copping it online after committing one of the worst dives you’ll ever see overnight.

Berghuis went to ground theatrically after being patted on the head by an opponent in his team’s 1-0 win over FC Utrecht.

“An embarrassment to the sport. Absolute joke and should be banned,” one user tweeted after watching Berghuis shocking dive. “We all comment on Neymar but this is even worse… he should get suspended for at least 3 games for this,” another chimed in.

While many decided to use sarcasm to come to terms with the sheer lunacy of the winger’s actions.

“Thoughts and prayers go out to Berghuis and his family” or something of a similar ilk was the common consensus for such a heinous piece of acting.

Former Arsenal and Manchester United striker Robin van Persie registered his fifth goal of the season to win the match for Feyenoord, who moved level on 13 points with Ajax – both trail league leaders PSV by five points.

The veteran Dutch striker left it late, though, scoring the only goal of the game after 88 minutes to help his side get back to winning ways after last week’s draw at AZ Alkmaar.
