Cool temperatures and windy conditions greeted the Moto2™ and Moto3™ riders on Tuesday morning at Jerez.

As the riders undertook their first morning of riding at the three day scheduled test in the south of Spain they were keen to get started despite the temperature. After last week’s Valencia test which was affected by bad weather and with rain forecast at Jerez this week, the riders did not want to miss out on vital track time even though there were less than ideal conditions in the early hours.

Tito Rabat (Estrella Galicia 0.0 Marc VDS) was fastest in the opening Moto2 session with a 1’43.399 lap, followed by Sam Lowes (Speed Up Racing) and Tom Luthi (Derendinger Racing Interwetten).

The first Moto3 run was led by Spaniard Isaac Viñales (Husqvarna Factory Laglisse) with a 1’49.156 lap, with Romano Fenati (Sky Racing Team VR46) and Miguel Oliveira (Red Bull KTM Ajo) also in the top three.
