A PERU fan nearly became the most hated man at the World Cup after appearing to attempt to steal Tim Cahill’s shirt as he was giving it to a child.
The four-time tournament veteran was playing in what will likely be his final major tournament at the age of 38.

And after Australia’s 2-0 defeat to Peru in their final group game, former Everton ace Cahill attempted to give his shirt to a youngster in the stands.
But as he was making sure it found its way into the right hands, a Peru fan nipped in and attempted to steal the shirt out of the young supporter’s grasp.

The shirt is fought over for a few moments before the child’s mum gave the Peruvian the ultimate finger wag and he backed off.

The Australian YouTuber who uploaded the footage of the incident called the cheeky fan a “d***head”.
