IT won’t come as a surprise but Panthers fans are filthy their elimination final is at ANZ Stadium.

Foxsports.com.au did an old fashioned vox pop to get a gauge of the level of resentment about the home game away from home.

Jim said, “At Panthers it would have been a full house, better atmosphere … I think we earned a home semi so we should be playing at home.

“It’s too late now, but maybe for next year the NRL better look at it.”

Lynne, another diehard decked out in her licorice all sorts get up, agreed.

“The players won’t feel like they’re at home and they need to get this win and I think we would’ve had a better chance at Panthers Stadium.”

Minutes before kick-off a paltry crowd had rolled in with speculation the total attendance could be below 20,000.

Another fan Pete, meanwhile, understood the need for seats at these big games, but looking out at all the empty blue chairs in front of him reminded him of a conversation he had with his brother.

“It definitely should be played at Panthers Stadium and while we can only fit about 22,000 there we won’t get much more here,” he said.

“That’s what I said to my brother, I said, ‘If they don’t get more than 25 here it’s a f****** waste of time’.

Tom used a fair bit of logic too.

“If the Warriors finished on top they would’ve played at home, so how does that work?” He fumed.

Of course you wouldn’t be talking to Penrith supporters if you didn’t run into one that was already blaming the team for his travel woes.

“I’d definitely rather it out there but it is what it is, Ben told us. “It’s an elimination final so it’s got to be fair I guess.”

To that we asked Ben, “But the Panthers earned it, right?”

“They didn’t finish in the top four though, it’s their fault,” he replied.
