Every Kedah fan will remember the exploits of forward Ken Ilso in the 2017 season. The Dane finished as the team's overall season top scorer and propelled the Red Eagles to glory in the FA Cup.

Ilso and fellow import, Zac Anderson announced that they will not be renewing their respective contracts with the club well before the 2017 season ended. It left Kedah with a lot to do ahead of the new season.

New head coach, Ramon Marcote has already secured the signing of Alvaro Silva to replace Anderson in the defence and seemed to have found his solution for the striking vacancy left by Ilso.

Spanish forward Pablo Pallares have arrived in Alor Setar according to the club's official Facebook page and all signs point to the contractual agreement being a mere formality.

The 30-year-old Pallares is a product of the Atletico Madrid youth academy and have spent his entire career playing for various clubs in Spain, alternating between the second and third tier of Spanish football.

If and when the signing goes through, Pallares will join Silva, Liridon Krasniqi and Sandro da Silva as the four imports in the Kedah team with one ASEAN slot left to be filled. The latter duo, retained from last season.

Marcote will undeniably that the contract talks goes smoothly before he takes Kedah to Indonesia for the next phase of their pre-season preparations.
