Nairobi Governor, Mike Sonko has pledged Sh2 million to Harambee Stars if they win the 2017 Cecafa Senior Challenge.
The County number 42 boss watched Stars play to a barren draw against Zanzibar at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos on Saturday, but even the disappointing result did not stop a philanthropic Sonko from making a promise to the under-pressure squad.

Sonko, however, made a factual error in his tweet when he erroneously posted an incorrect result in the initial tweet.
“Harambee Stars draw 1-1 with Zanzibar in the ongoing #CecafaKE2017 tournament preliminaries. However in case, our team clinches the trophy they will bag 2,000,000/= courtesy of myself and Governor Mutua,” Sonko posted on his verified Twitter account before deleting the post to replace it with the correct scoreline.

Stars who will be up against Tanzania in the last group ‘A’ match, were held to a 0-0 draw by the Zanzibar Heroes.
Kenya are placed second in the group with five points, above Libya, Rwanda and Tanzania. Zazibar are top of the table with seven points.
