SWAN Hill trainer Nathan Hobson gives his in-form Ambassador Lad a great chance to bounce back at Mildura from his recent defeat at the same track and distance.

Ambassador Lad finished second behind runaway winner Fanciful Toff last start but was running on strongly when it counted.

The track is rated a Good 4 with the rail out 3.5m from the 800-400m for the eight-race card.

BEST BET: ABRADED (Race 4, No. 1)

Over-raced at his debut in October last year at this track when he finished third but still finished on nicely. Recent Warracknabeal trial winner and he carries the deadly Weir/Yendall combination.

NEXT BEST: VIVACITY (Race 2, No. 7)

She’s finished second at both of her starts which were at Wodonga and Wangaratta. Should bread through in this and has the added bonus of Dean Yendall riding.

SHE’S NIC’N OFF (Race 8, No. 4)

Racing consistently with one win, two seconds and two thirds from her past five starts. She fought on well last start when third at Geelong Synthetic in this grade behind Mint On Moseley.

EDEN EAGLE (Race 4, No. 3)

“Very immature horse who ran on well at his first start for me. Should keep on improving.”

ANGELIFY (Race 4, No. 10)

“She should improve a lot on her Caulfield run which was her first run for me. Just want to see her do it.”

VA BENNE AMORE (Race 5, No. 5)

“She was disappointing here last start. Hopefully she’ll put in a better run.”

WELSH POET (Race 6, No. 12)

“He run super last start at Donald. Christine (Puls) has a good understanding of him. He’s a good each-way chance.”

AMBASSADOR LAD (Race 7, No. 1)

“He ran into a smart Ciaron Maher horse last start here after a good win at Swan Hill so he’s in good form. He’s a great each-way chance.”
