Kevin Roberts, the Cricket Australia chief executive officer, is in Bangladesh for a short visit to discuss "bilateral things". His visit comes ahead of Australia's two-Test tour of the country in June-July, the itinerary of which hasn't been announced, but the BCB insist that the meeting wasn't about assurances on the tour, which is an "FTP commitment, so no additional discussion is required."

"We had invited Kevin Roberts to come during the Asia XI and World XI match, but he has a busy schedule at that time. So we invited him to watch BPL final. He came to discuss a few bilateral things," Nizamuddin Chowdhury, the BCB chief executive, said. "Australia tour is FTP commitment, so no additional discussion is required."

One of the bilateral things Nizamuddin revealed discussing with Roberts is a three-year development project, recently approved by the BCB, that's to be supervised by CA's international cricket development program manager, Ross Turner. "We discussed with Roberts how Bangladesh can get more cooperation from Australia in running the project."

Nizamuddin, however, stressed that there was no discussion about Bangladesh's Australia tour that was cancelled in 2018. According to the previous ICC's Future Tours Program, Australia were scheduled to host Bangladesh for two Tests and three ODIs in August-September 2018 but cancelled the series due to financial reasons. Bangladesh haven't toured Australia for any bilateral series since 2003.

"That [the tour that was cancelled by CA in 2018] is a closed chapter now,'' said Nizamuddin.
