JAKE Waterman is in contention for a senior recall after West Coast added the young forward to their extended squad to play Melbourne off the back of a seven-goal WAFL haul.

Waterman lit it up for East Perth last weekend, with his tally of 7.3 coming amid nine marks and 20 disposals.

The Eagles named all 22 of the players who edged Port Adelaide in their 26-man squad to face the Demons on Sunday, but could be tempted to squeeze Waterman in to tinker their forward set-up.

Matthew Allen, Jackson Nelson and Francis Watson have also been added to the extended squad, which will be finalised tomorrow.

Waterman has not featured since the Round 19 loss to North Melbourne.

As flagged, Melbourne will have to overcome the loss of two of their stars for the Optus Stadium clash, with Jesse Hogan and Jayden Hunt both out injured.

Sam Weideman is the man charged with replacing Hogan in Melbourne’s front half, while Michael Hibberd will be a welcome return.

Jake Melksham, Dean Kent, Mitch Hannan and Josh Wagner are all in the mix for the Demons.

West Coast can wrap up a top-two berth with a win, while Melbourne is in danger of slipping out of the top eight with another defeat.
