Bangladesh have included Jahanara Alam in their ICC Women's Cricket World Cup squad, scheduled in New Zealand from March- April.

Cricbuzz had earlier reported that though Jahanara will be in the ICC World Cup squad despite failing to make a cut in the national women's squad for the ICC Commonwealth Games Qualifier 2020.

It was learnt that Jahanara was excluded on disciplinary grounds while the veteran campaigner wrote to BCB, accusing selector Manjurul Islam of mismanagement and bias. The matter was sorted out later after BCB high-ups interfered.

BCB said that the women's team will start its preparation camp at the BCB National Cricket Academy from January 29.

All the members of the CWG qualifiers were included in the squad, with the only addition is Jahanara.

"We're playing the 50-over world cup for the first time, so I am excited," captain Nigar Sultana said. "Besides that, each and every player is hopeful of doing well. If you look closely at the team we've put out, you will see that our team has many young talents alongside experienced players who have been performing well over the years. This squad have been playing together for two years. Our team spirit and confidence is at a high level."
