Double deal as two Tigers head to the Suns
FRINGE Richmond midfielders Anthony Miles and Corey Ellis have been traded to Gold Coast.
The Suns will also receive Richmond's third-round pick from 2019, while Gold Coast will hand back their third-round pick from 2019.
The news comes after former Suns co-captain Tom Lynch officially joined Richmond as a restricted free agent.
Miles has managed 71 games across his seven seasons, starting at Greater Western Sydney before being delisted in 2013 and recruited by the Tigers at the subsequent rookie draft.
He finished fourth in the 2015 best and fairest and sixth the following year.
In 2014-16, when Miles lined up in 55 matches, he averaged 24 disposals and 11 contested possessions per game.
He tied with Williamstown midfielder Michael Gibbons for the JJ Liston Trophy.
Miles averaged 30 disposals and 14 contested possessions at the lower level this year.
Ellis turns 22 on Tuesday and has played 27 games since being drafted at No.12 in 2014.
The left-footer has classy foot skills but has struggled to nail down a consistent spot in the senior side.
Ellis spent most of his time on a wing or across half-back for the Tigers.
Tigers football manager Neil Balme thanked the pair when speaking to richmondfc.com.au.
"Anthony and Corey played well above VFL level this year and we understand their desire to seek new opportunities," Balme said.
"Milesy is the ultimate professional and has given our football club wonderful service over the past five years.
"At just 21 years old, Corey is a talented footballer and has a bright future ahead of him.
"We wish them the best of luck at the Gold Coast and thank them for their time at Richmond."
