Deandra Dottin and Lee-Ann Kirby return to the West Indies Women's set-up after they were named in the 15-member T20 World Cup squad, that will be led by Stafanie Taylor.

Dottin was absent from the side for almost a year after having suffered a right shoulder injury which required corrective surgery and subsequent rehabilitation having last played in February 2019, while Kirby returned after over 12 years, having played her last T20I in July 2008.

"Lee Ann Kirby returns to the team after an extended absence but she has shown herself to be a prolific scorer," chief selector Ann Browne-John said in a release on Wednesday (January 22). "In addition the introduction of the young fast bowler Cherry Ann Fraser is ideal for the Australian pitches which are generally fast with some bounce. The team has the experience and talent to excel at the World Cup."

In addition, Taylor herself is making a return after having missed Windies' most-recent T20I series against India that they lost 0-5. West Indies also boast of usual faces in Hayley Matthews, Anisa Mohammed, apart from Shakera Selman and Shamilia Connell, who are also returning from injuries.

West Indies will take on Pakistan in three warm-up matches in Brisbane ahead of the tournament. They will kickstart their campaign on February 22 against Thailand in Perth, before facing Pakistan, England and South Africa in the group stages.
