With an investment of nearly U.S. $280 million, police and armed forces have high technology to ensure peace during the World.

The safety of the World Cup will strengthen a variety of technologies and innovations are exhibited in an international fair of public security in Rio de Janeiro. Among the main investments are two drones, which can shoot images to three miles away, and 30 robots capable of handling explosives, the same model used after two major terrorist attacks in the United States: the attack on the World Trade Center on 11 September 2001 in New York, and the explosion in the Boston Marathon on April 15 last year.

Technical director of the Brazilian Association of Manufacturers of Materials for Defence and Security and former Army colonel, Armando Lemos considers the use of technology a key ally during the World.

The drone allows air monitoring with cameras that capture accurately points to three kilometers away. The machine is like a small helicopter, remote controlled, used for surveillance and even in military operations. At the World Cup, two of them will be used by the Brazilian Air Force. The equipment costs about U.S. $ 20 million.

This is just one example of the investment. All stages will have trucks tracking with camera settings and chemical sensors. Each one cost $ 1.9 million - 22 of them are already being used in the country.

Command centers will gather the information security, traffic and mobility. The technology will also allow data to be transferred to the main authorities involved with the World.

- Any local, state or federal agency involved with the event of a capital Cup will have not only the capital of this information, all integrated and available, how to access what is happening elsewhere, because the national center is to distribute information - said the director of Telecom Now, Vail Gomes.

In cities that already had control centers, the command center was attached. In the other, it was necessary to build the spaces that will integrate Police, Samu Service and Civil Defense. The investment in the 12 centers was £ 244 million. The Ministry of Justice has invested another U.S. $ 35 million in equipment.
