According to NFL.com, the extension is for three years at $36 million with $20 million guaranteed. Hayward then confirmed the report.

In 2016, he led the league with seven interceptions, becoming the first player in franchise history to accomplish that feat outright. He added four more interceptions last season.

Hayward has also broken up 42 passes during the last two seasons. His 22 passes defended led the AFC last season, and was four more than the next closest defender
