BILLY Slater's judiciary hearing is underway at the NRL's Moore Park headquarters where the star fullback is trying to beat a shoulder charge.

If banned, Slater will miss his last-ever match - a grand final no less - before retirement.

Slater was charged with a grade one shoulder charge on Sosaia Feki during the Storm's grand final qualifier win over the Sharks.Slater arrived at NRL HQ this afternoon flanked by coach Craig Bellamy and Storm CEO Dave Donaghy.

The trio flew into Sydney on a sponsor's private 10-seat jet and will return to Melbourne tonight.Bellamy hasn't attended a judiciary hearing in 16 years but wanted to support Slater.

The NRL will be represented by Anthony Lo Surdo, who coincidentally successfully prosecuted Canberra’s Sia Soliola last year for his high shot on on Slater which resulted in a five-week suspension.

Gun defence counsel Nick Ghabar has been brought in by the Storm to help free the retiring star to play in his farewell grand final.
