Tuesday was a whirlwind for the Buffalo Bills.

Shortly after the team announced the firing of coach Rex Ryan, reports that the organization would bench quarterback Tyrod Taylor against the Jets on Sunday surfaced.

Buffalo benching Tyrod Taylor is sign of uncertainty with him. Can't risk injury when he is due a $15.5M bonus and $30.75M gtd if hurt.

Instead of risking Taylor getting hurt, interim coach Anthony Lynn has decided EJ Manuel will start in his place.

Firing Ryan coincided with the decision to bench Taylor, since Ryan wanted to play Taylor on Sunday. With Ryan gone, the Bills front office won't risk losing the guaranteed injury clause over Taylor.
