Arizona State After six seasons leading the Sun Devils, Todd Graham has been fired from Arizona State.
Arizona State won its rivalry game against Arizona on Saturday, but it wasn't enough to save Todd Graham's job.

Vice President of Athletics Ray Anderson announced in a statement on Sunday that Graham and his staff will remain with the program through their bowl appearance, but Graham has been relieved of his duties as the head football coach of ASU.

"Our athletic department, university and community expect our football program to compete on the field for Pac-12 titles, be competitively consistent and qualify to participate in major bowl games on a regular basis," Anderson said. "In evaluating Todd's body of work over a four-year period, it became clear that a change is necessary."

The Sun Devils finished their regular season 7-5 and 6-3 in Pac-12. During Graham's time in Tempe, Ariz., he led the Sun Devils to the 2013 Pac-12 South title and gave the program their first back-to-back 10-win season in over three decades.

Despite his early success in turning around the program, the last three years have been challenging as a result of a struggling defense, inconsistent recruiting and staff turnover.

Over the last three seasons, ASU went 18-19, which forced Anderson to make a decision on the future of the Sun Devils football program.
According to AZ Central, Anderson informed Graham of the decision to part ways in a meeting Sunday morning, and Anderson planned to meet with the team and staff later Sunday.

Graham's contract runs through June 30, 2021, which makes this a costly move for Arizona State. According to the terms of his contract, Graham's buyout would be over $12 million.
