Sony’s Xperia XZ3 is set to be announced in just under two weeks at the brand’s IFA event in Berlin and following a 360-degree render which leaked last month, new case renders provide yet another glimpse at the smartphone’s design ahead of the announcement.

Confirming what is already known, the front of the device sees the return of an 18:9 display, thus following the recent trends in the industry. Unlike the Xperia XZ2, though, the XZ3 makes use of a panel with rounded corners. Nevertheless, Sony’s trademark thick bezels above and below the display unsurprisingly make a return – the bottom one is home to a front-facing speaker and the company’s logo, while the top features a front-facing camera and a second speaker which doubles as the in-ear one. Switching over to the rear, the case images once again confirm that the Xperia XZ3 will ship with a single camera, rather than the dual-camera setup that was initially rumored. This is coupled with laser autofocus and an LED flash. Also worth pointing out is the presence of a fingerprint scanner just below the camera.

When it comes to the internal characteristics, Sony’s next flagship will presumably ship with the Snapdragon 845 on the inside and 6GB of RAM. A bump in storage to 128GB is to be expected too, and microSD support should be retained. When it comes to the camera details, it appears the device may make use of Sony’s new 48-megapixel image sensor. Lastly, completing the setup should be Android 9 Pie straight out of the box, after all, the company has already confirmed that many of its current devices will receive the update next month.

As mentioned above, the Xperia XZ3 should make its first official appearance on August 30 in Berlin. This should be followed by a release sometime in September. However, at this point in time, it’s unclear how Sony will choose to price the smartphone.
