Microsoft rolled out Windows 10 Mobile 14267.1004 earlier this week as the second Redstone build for mobile insiders with new Lumia devices, and the first reports of improved performance are already coming.

While Gabe Aul, head of the Windows Insider program, revealed some of the changes that the Windows development team made in this build in the official release announcement, it turns out that there’s more under the hood of build .1004.
For example, we’ve noticed improved live tile behavior, as all of them seem to refresh correctly after installing this build. And in a recent post on Reddit, a Microsoft employee has confirmed that live tiles have indeed received several enhancements in this build and are likely to get more in the coming updates.
“14267 (and now 14267.1004) includes improvements to address some of the feedback about live tiles sometimes not updating, and we're working on some other things in this area that should help out too - stay tuned,” she says.
Live tile improvements Live tiles have quickly become one of the top features on Windows Phone and Windows 10 Mobile, and there’s no doubt that Microsoft needs to get them right when rolling out new updates.
At the same time, there was some evidence that Microsoft might be preparing important overhauls to live tiles, including what many people described as interactive live tiles. With this new feature, each tile was supposed to be able to break into several other smaller tiles, each performing a specific feature for every app. For example, when clicking the tile of a music app, the smaller tiles could allow you to control playback and pause the song or jump to the next or previous one.
Interactive live tiles are nowhere to be seen at the moment, but there’s hope that at least a feature that would enhance the original concept of live tiles could arrive with the launch of the Redstone update.
