Vivo Xplay 5 has been rumored for quite a while as the world's first smartphone to pack 6GB of RAM, but things turned out a bit different.

The Chinese OEM announced two high-end smartphones and just one of them going by the name Xplay 5 Elite comes with 6GB of RAM inside.
The second high-end smartphone coming from Vivo is the regular Xplay 5, which has great specs, but it doesn't include 6GB RAM.
According to Vivo, the Xplay 5 will be available for pre-order in China on March 8 for around $565, and it will hit shelves on March 16.
Just like the Elite model, Xplay 5 boasts a stunning 5.43-inch Super AMOLED Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) dual curved display that featured Corning Gorilla Glass 4 coating.
The phone features an aluminum-magnesium unibody and features a fingerprint scanner on the back cover, right below the main camera.
Snapdragon 652 CPU inside and 128GB storage (no microSD) However, the Xplay does not include a Snapdragon 820 CPU inside, as Vivo has decided to employ the services of a slightly lower 64-bit 1.8GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 chipset.
Also, the smartphone packs 4GB of RAM and an Adreno 510 graphics processing unit. Since the Xplay 5 lacks microSD card slot, the Chinese company has decided to put no less than 128GB of storage at users' disposal.
At the back, the phone features an impressive 16-megapixel camera with Sony IMX298 sensor, phase detection autofocus, 4K video recording and f/2.0 aperture. There's also a secondary 8-megapixel camera in the front with f/2.4 aperture.
Vivo's Xplay 5 comes with 4G LTE and dual-SIM support and it's powered by a generous 3,600 mAh battery with fast charging.
Just like its slightly more powerful sibling, Vivo Xplay 5 will ship with Android 5.1 Lollipop based on FunTouch OS 2.5.1.
