Samsung announced last week that unlocked Galaxy Note 8, Galaxy S8 and S8+ phones will receive Android 8.0 Oreo updates in the United States in about 2-3 weeks. All major carriers in the US have already released Oreo updates for the Galaxy S8 and S8+, but the Note 8 hasn't yet received it.

Once again, it appears that the rest of the world is getting a major Android update before the United States. We've received reports and screenshots that confirm Samsung has already started the Android 8.0 Oreo Galaxy Note 8 roll-out in some countries.

The update is now available for the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 with model number SM-950FD, but other models, except the SM-N950U/U1 launched in the US, should start getting Android 8.0 Oreo as well.

The changelog is pretty consistent and includes many new features and improvements in addition to Android 8.0 Oreo. Expect enhancements to security features like biometrics (face, fingerprints, and irises), as well as improvements to Quick Panel, Home Screen, Samsung Keyboard, and system performance.

The update weighs in at around 1.5GB and includes the March security patch, the latest update released by Google. If you don't live in the United States, chances are that you'll be getting Android 8.0 Oreo on your Samsung Galaxy Note 8 in the coming days.
