It looks like Samsung is about to launch a few Value Edition versions of some mid-range Android smartphones in an attempt to refresh the lineup of affordable devices.

We have already reported about the so-called Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime Value Edition, which has yet to be officially unveiled.

Today, another Value Edition handset from Samsung leaked online. The Galaxy Core Prime Value Edition is another mid-range Android smartphone that should be released next month.

The smartphone isn't impressive when it comes to specs, but that's because it should be a very cheap device. According to sources in the Netherlands, the Galaxy Core Prime Value Edition should be launched in this country on July 23.

When it comes to pricing options, the smartphone should be available for the same amount as the standard Galaxy Core Prime model that it will replace on the market.

This means that the Value Edition should sell for around €150 outright, though the information has yet to be confirmed by Samsung.
It comes with the same specs as the original model

Moving on to specs, the Galaxy Core Prime Value Edition will ship with Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system right out of the box, which should be one of its strong selling points.

In addition, the smartphone is equipped with a 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 64GB via microSD card slot.

Samsung Galaxy Core Prime Value Edition sports a 4.5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports 480 x 800 pixels resolution.

There's also a 5-megapixel photo snapper on the back, which features autofocus, LED flash and HD (720p) resolution, while in the front there's a secondary 2-megapixel camera for video calls.

While the Galaxy Core Prime Value Edition isn't an upgrade over the previous model, some customers might be convinced to buy one due to the fact that it comes with Android 5.1 Lollipop onboard.
