Microsoft’s working on a new feature for Windows 10 Redstone that would lead to better synchronization between PCs and smartphones running the new operating system.

Cortana will be able to display alerts on your PC when the phone’s battery is getting low, but also missed calls, text, or app notifications. This means you’ll always be up to date with everything happening on your handset without even leaving your PC
A screenshot with an undisclosed Windows 10 Mobile Redstone build coming via Twitter user @tfwboredom reveals that Microsoft’s already working on implementing such functionality in the operating system, so insiders might be soon allowed to try it out as well. “Let Cortana tell you on your other devices when your battery is low and when you miss a phone call, text, or app notification,” this option reads.
Redstone builds already rolling out to insiders Microsoft has already started rolling out Windows 10 Mobile Redstone builds to insiders, but they are only available on new Lumia phones that shipped with Windows 10, that is Lumia 950, 950 XL, 650, and 550.
Redstone is the codename of the next Windows 10 update that will arrive on both PCs and smartphones, but at this point, it’s not yet clear if Microsoft wants to release it on all devices at the same time.
On PCs, Redstone will come with significant improvements, including browser extension support for Microsoft Edge, a feature that was originally expected to arrive in Threshold 2 but got delayed because of the additional work that was needed.
In the meantime, everyone’s waiting for the final upgrade version of Windows 10 Mobile for Windows Phone devices, but Microsoft continues to remain tight-lipped on any information regarding the release date. The only target we know is that the company wants to release it in “early 2016,” so we might not have to wait much longer for the upgrade.
