Thanks to a tweet disseminated by superstar leakmeister Evan Blass, we now have a good idea when the 2018 Samsung flagship models are expected to go on sale. Actually, the leak sent out by Blass includes a unveiling date of February 26th. That happens to be the opening day of the 2018 MWC trade show in Barcelona and seconds a comment made at CES by the president of Samsung's mobile business, DJ Koh.

According to Blass, who admittedly did get the info from someone he characterizes as a "C-" level executive at a major case maker, after the introduction of the Samsung Galaxy S9 and Samsung Galaxy S9+ on February 26th, pre-orders will commence on March 1st. The actual release date will be March 16th. Last year, the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ were unveiled on March 29th and released on April 21st. As you can see, if Blass' info is correct, Samsung is hoping to get its flagship handsets out earlier this year.

Unlike last year, it appears that Samsung will have its new Galaxy S handsets available prior to the release of the LG G7. In 2017, the LG G6 was released on March 10th, five and a half weeks before Samsung dropped the Galaxy S8/S8+. This year, the latest speculation calls for the LG G7 to be introduced in the middle of March and launched in April. That could give the 2018 Samsung flagships a two week head start before the latest top shelf phone from LG goes up for sale.
