After Huawei chose to skip the TalkBand B4 release last year, it was revealed just a few days ago that the brand was working on a new device dubbed the TalkBand B5. And today, thanks to a promotional poster, itís been suggested that the official announcement will be taking place July 18.

Looks-wise, the new wearable will only be a slight refinement over the design shown off back in 2016 with the TalkBand B3, which means a product with a pretty premium housing that resembles a fitness tracker in both shape and, partially, in function. This means that aside from the typical features such as calory counting and step trackers, users will also be able to track various activities such as walking, running, and swimming. Speaking of which, the new TalkBand B5 is expected to maintain the IP67 water and dust resistance rating of its predecessor. However, the true focus of the TalkBand isnít fitness. Instead, the wearables main feature is actually the display module.

Keeping with tradition, the new TalkBand B5 will once again boast a unique display that can be popped out and placed inside your ear. This will then automatically double as a wireless Bluetooth headset which allows users to answer phone calls that are received by a paired Android or iOS device. Additionally, owners of the new TalkBand will also be able to make phone calls to numbers present on a connected contact list.

Presently, itís unclear how Huawei will choose to price its next wearable, but it's worth noting that sales will commence in China on July 20, just two days after the unveiling. Taking this into account, initial availability is likely to be limited to the market, but other countries should begin receiving the product by the end of the summer.
