    General Newbie Question

I am new here just browsing around. I've stumbled on Review Index which is pretty neat but they seem to follow the same review format (not that its bad). Just wondering about these trackers and if they ever go against their own rules on their sites and if they might ever just screw you over for any apparent reasons. What are the reasons that I can trust these trackers in case things go bad? I guess what I am trying to compare is like how VPN are judged for their transparency and reliability in providing their services to how trackers go about it as well. I remember the time NordVPN got some backlash and caused some people to panic and wondering it can likely happen to any of these trackers as well.

That is an interesting question, one which I would like to hear an answer too. But in the mean time, you can see which site has how many users. The more the number of users, the more reliable it arguably is. Similarly, the site age. the older it is, the safer it arguably is. Notice the "arguably", because its all arguable
    SeFutGuai and ocho100 like this.

Nothing much you as a newbie user you can do.
Just try to be quiet, seed as long as you can, avoid hnr, and they will not even know you exist.

What is there to trust anyway, all they have is your ip, email, and list of files you downloaded.
Even you take your own precautions in some areas, use vpn, protonmail etc, you can avoid some legal issue.

Another view you can look at is that, all the free content you get. Sometimes even old content that's dead on public trackers.

Some top tracker have a issue with randomly harrassing users (or other private sites) when they suspect they are stealing content and sharing to other private trackers. But guess what, they still here and growing and high in demand.

Some trackers are very friendly and high in terms of privacy, but they do not have content retention. Or their pretimes are slow. Or slow speeds.
Depending on your paranoia level, it is up to you to choose.

At the end you can always rely on public tracker for the latest content. You can download from there and enjoy.

sorry for the textwall, just blabbering i guess.

True, going with the flow guess makes sense cause people are using it for a reason and that'll be what keeps the trackers going. I just remember back in the ol days when I first started torrenting with piratebay and it eventually got shutdown despite it being immensely popular. Good thing with torrentinvites is that you have a list of trackers and reviews which "can" guide you to whats good or not but if they end up in the same fate as piratebay then i'm not too sure what to do... Keep flocking?

With all the legal shit and copyright, I hope that these trackers try not to mess around with their "users" and content. I'm all for sharing the community even though I am getting "free" stuff but when credit is due, I eventually will try to support like developers for their games only if they deserve it of course. The reason I feel that this is an issue is that with terms and agreements can possibly change anytime and that trackers can backtrack on their word or change for the worst. Never know what can happen in the future especially with nowadays government and corporations are trying to crack down on net net neutrality, copyright and whatever "self interest" things.

Not sure how things are worldwide but thats what it seems for where I live (you can guess which country) and seeing how bad 2020 is so far.
