    Best way to play Blu-rays\4k

Hey friends, i have a question
I usually download the 1080p versions and simply connect the laptop via HDMI to my smartTV. (and i use VLC on laptop)
My question is, if I download movies in 4k \ blu ray and do exactly the same process, will I be able to enjoy all the video\song quality?

I also have a soundbar connected by optical cable

Dont u have a good large external HDD ?
I have a 2TB HDD and connect it directly to my Samsung UHD tv and play from it.
I also have a soundbar with optical wired connection, so u cant play DTS or HDdolby sounds as u either need Nvidia shield or a hddolby high priced soundbar.

So, my Tv only supports AC3 or EAC3 currently.
There is a very good software, Box4, which converts trueHD, hddolby or DTS sounds to AC3, it only takes me like 5mins to do the conversion and copy to HDD at the same time for 40-50 gb 4k remuxes.

Previously, i also used to download and watch 1080p AC3 rips, but when i found this hack, i only download and watch bluray or 4K UHD remuxes , 50 to 60 gigs each.

I love the Framestor, Epsilon or PlayHD remuxes
4K UHD is really enjoyable without losing the sound quality as well

    Hope that helps.

Yes I have an external HDD but my problem is that I can't put subtitles on.
I noticed now that when watching something connected by HDMI from the laptop to the television, when there are scenes that are too dark the image is with pixels but connecting with the HDD i dont have this problem

The problem cannot be the HDMI cable because it is the same as I use to play ps5 and the image is always very good and my laptop have a rtx 2060\amd ryzen7 so i thing its powerful enough to play 4K movies or no ?

Yes, ur laptop is powerful enough. U can try to play a 4K movie directly on laptop and verify.
Anyways, HDD is always a preferable option. You can even download subtitles separately from subscene.

Watching from laptop to HDMI cable connected to TV, sounds lot of connections and all. I wouldnt prefer that much of a hassel and wiring for watching TV and movies stuff. I too have PS4 pro, HDMI and all that stuff, but HDD is always a smooth option for me, i just plug it back to my TV and havent faced any issues as such.
