MPD is my player of choice
Jriver, ok it's not free but it's worth every penny for an Audiophile. The controls simply can't be beaten by any other player.
foobar2000 try it, you'll love it
Well I use multiple players, depending on my mood and need of the hour. Discovered Foobar 2000 just recently as in beginning of last year. It has some astounding features if one just tinkers around with it. Grooves the windows built in player plays the flac files. So there are no favorites, just which ever fits the need of the hour, I use that player.
i use foobar2000 for 10 years now ...its also a great audio converter gui
I typically use Winamp. It's a little bulky, but has nice features, a nice gui, and support for plugins.
foobar2000 is my fav since winamp dead :(
My choice is usually Media Player Classic: lightweight and easy to use. Also using it for movies.
