FLAC, MP3 320 CBR, or MP3 VBR V0. Depends what is available.
mp3 is so yesterday
and if you are still after mp3s vbr v0 is more efficient that cbr 320kbps and there's virtually no difference in audio quality
Even after 25 years, MP3 will remain the top lossy audio format.
I've realized this after quite some time, but I find that V0 isn't always available on the trackers I can access. I don't go out of my way to hunt down V0, since I'm not too concerned about storage space.
320 for regular everyday listening
FLAC for my favourite music
Do you guys think streaming matches somehow flac 320 or now way, that's too far?
Agree, with the numerous debates over the internet, comparing ABX tests and so forth, this is always the thing that get's overlooked in discussions. Even if one can't always hear it, It's knowing you have a bit perfect copy of the track from the CD, mastertape, or record, or whatever the source was. I just refuse mp3 or anything lossy point blank. :)
Podcasts and talking books is another thing, totally different kettle of fish.
If i have the choice FLAC but if not 320kbps.
anyone particularly interested in hi-res music here??
FLAC both computer and Astern
