my first cd was local kidsmusic, about 6 yrs old then.
Danzig III: How the Gods Kill
I knew who Danzig was and I loved H.R. Giger's art. I still listen to it.
Cinderella Night Songs when I was like 12. Poison, Guns and Roses, and Metallica soon followed.
I'm a little older so it was vinyl not CD. Aerosmith - Toys in the Attic, when I was in 7th grade back in 1977. Don't remember why, but it was the first of many. Still have them all and listen to them every once and awhile. Just bought my daughter a turntable for Christmas this year.
Pearl Jam - Ten , I bought it on a family trip when I was 11 :proud:
The Marshall Mathers LP.
@buzzit GET THE HELL OUT!!! That's the 1st CD I bought, too! NO WAY!!!
@fiorentini @whiteLight @buzzit - Team Marshall™
Still an avid hip-hop aficionado.
Linkin Park - Hybrid Theory
Bought Queen A Night at the Opera, loving the band since then.
Linkin Park - Live in texas, the reason, well its obvious because i like this band
An obscure one: Fat Boy Slim - You've Come a Long Way, Baby
My very first CD Album was «El angel caído» by «Avalanch». I remember perfectly well. I was like 12 or 13 years old, and this was not only my first Album, but the very first thing I bought with my own money. Sad ending: My big brother picked me up and I put the CD in the car stereo. While we were listening to it, a taxi crashed with us, and I have no idea where the box landed. It got lost. I could only recover the CD, which fortunately wasn't damaged.
Aerosmith's Greatest Hits. Upgraded from my cassette of it for my new cd player. :)
First CD I ever bought was Rush - Moving Pictures, because a friend had me listen to the album, and I really liked it.
think it was a KISS Album - (Album) Psycho Circus - why? because i already downloaded it via napster and liked the music :)
I think it was Bad Religion - Against the grain.
I have about 800-900 cds and alot of vinyls but nowadays everything I get is digital....
Who could ever imgaine that you could carry your whole music collection in your pocket :)
The first CD I, myself, have ever bought was DMX "...And then there was X". Dude was a fucking boss back in the day. First CD i ever owned, though, was Weird Al. Who DIDN'T like growing up with Weird Al?
Iron Maiden - Power Slave, after getting back from great summer lake boating/bbq with friends who were playing it.
Yeah you've got to be of a certain age to buy CD's :)
David Bowie Diamond Dogs was it. When CD's first came out. I couldn't believe how crappy it sounded compared to vinyl! Digital mastering back then was in its infancy :)
My first cd bought was Prodigy, and all because my local social pressure lol
Coldplay ...their first album...
savage garden - savage garde album
Amedeo Minghi – I Ricordi Del Cuore because of Edera.
First CD? Not sure, but first Album was on cassette and that was Joan Jett and the Blackhearts - I Love Rock & Roll. If I had to make a guess of it I'd say first CD I bought was The Mighty Mighty Bosstones - Devil's Night Out.
Michael Jackson - Thriller
because MJ is the best :)
Bridges to Babylon from the Rolling Stones because it was fucking amazing!!!
"Paranoid" by Black Sabbath. 15 years old and wanting something "darker" in terms of music. The resident metalhead at the CD shop pointed it out and I haven't looked back.
I think it was an Offspring album, maybe Americana? I had cassettes before that.
MLTR album, forgot the title
Michael Jackson - History...
Technically didn't buy it - Got it as a Bday gift...
Still one of the best releases ever IMO...
Please don't judge me: Let Go, by Avril Lavigne (I was young)
American Idiot - Green Day, because angsty teenager
Toadies - Rubberneck.
My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy - Kanye West. Why? Because Yeezus Forever
I think it was Queen (Blue box Edition) :)
Who wants to live for ever!
U2 - The Unforgettable Fire
I used to love those guys. Not so much anymore.
