Watch Shame perform three new songs as part of tiny London show at The Social

The Wrangler-sponsored show also hosted Yak and Yala! Records newcomers Talk Show

Shame played three new songs live last night (March 20), at an intimate live return as part of London’s ongoing campaign to save threatened Soho venue The Social.

Just hours after the initial £90,000 funding target to Save The Social was met, the South London band took to the tiny stage to road-test material from a new, as-yet-untitled follow-up to their debut album ‘Songs Of Praise’. It follows the band’s appearance at Standon Calling last year, which also saw them perform an as-yet-unreleased track, then tentatively titled ‘No Name’.

Opening with another unnamed track, the band later tore through both’No Name’ – now titled ‘Exhaler’ – and another newbie, reportedly titled ‘Human For A Minute’. Footage of those tracks has made its way online, and can be viewed below.

Earlier in the night, Yak performed tracks from their new album ‘Pursuit Of Momentary Happiness’, the Oli Burslem-fronted psych-blues group on typically improvisational form, while Yala! Records newcomers Talk Show opened proceedings with their gothic, new-wave-inspired punk.

Shame made headlines earlier this year when they trolled Catfish & The Bottlemen – slamming them as a “shit band” as they announced their new album.

The release date or further details for Shame’s second record is not yet known, though the band are planning a number of US and European tour dates throughout summer 2019 – those are as follows:
