Turns out Ed Sheeran loves Marilyn Manson and Korn
He even got a selfie with one fifth at the latter yesterday
Ed Sheeran is a big fan of Marilyn Manson and Korn, according to the latter’s Brian ‘Head’ Welch.
Welch and fellow guitarist James “Munky” Shaffer ran into the singer-songwriter in Nashville last night (October 22), where Korn are currently working on a new album.
All three musicians were backstage at Manson’s concert at the city’s Marathon Music Works venue. Welch shared a selfie of him with Sheeran on his Instagram page, sharing details about the unexpected rendezvous with his followers.
“Of course @Teddysphotos would walk right past me and @munky_korn at @Marilynmanson concert and tell us he just listened to Freak On a Leash earlier today,” he wrote. “Why should we be surprised?” See the selfie below.
Meanwhile, Sheeran revealed earlier this year he would like to return to making music like his 2011 ‘EP No. 5 Collaborations Project’, which saw him team up with artists like Wiley, JME, and Sway. He also cited Drake as his dream collaboration and said the rapper was inspiring him in his efforts to move away from the acoustic guitar on his next album.
“I kind of learned from looking at how Drake does it,” he said. “Drake puts out these albums that are huge but then, in between, he sticks out projects and however big the project is, it doesn’t really matter because it’s not the album, if that makes sense. It just clears the air for the next album.”
Elsewhere, Sheeran is also lining up to appear in Danny Boyle’s as-yet-untitled, Beatles-inspired movie. The musician will play himself in the film. The performance follows his cameo in Game Of Thrones.
