Nicki Minaj Had This to Say About Lizzo Hitting No. 1 On Billboard Hot 100

With Lizzo notching her first-ever Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 hit this week thanks to "Truth Hurts," the love has been pouring in from across the music world. One of the artists singing her praises is Nicki Minaj, who congratulated Lizzo on her latest achievement with a message on Twitter.

"Congratulations @LIZzo on going #1. You are so extremely multi-talented," Minaj wrote with a series of kissing emojis. Lizzo responded Wednesday afternoon (Sept. 4) by thanking Nicki for the shout-out. "THANK U, QUEEN," she replied to the kind gesture. The Queen rapper went on to salute both Missy Elliott and Rapsody on the release on their recent projects as well.

The Detroit native made history this week when she became just the sixth female rapper to top the Hot 100 with her slow-burning 2017 smash. Lizzo joined the short list of Cardi B, Lauryn Hill, Iggy Azalea, Lil' Kim and Shawnna to accomplish the feat.
