I never used a seedbox, and I must confess that I don't know where to start and what to look for ehn searching for a seedbox.

Any detailed information how it works, how to download/upload to/from seedbox.....

The big things to look for (in my opinion) are upload/download speed, unlimited bandwidth, hard disk space, and number of torrents you can have active at one time.

I have the Copper plan with Super SeedBox and I've been pretty pleased with them. They offer 100mbit line with 35gb space and 6 active torrents. They use the uTorrent web interface, which I prefer using.

There are a few on this list that other people posted that seem to have slightly better deals, though it's only a $4 for more hdd space and active torrents.



I just jumped in one day and it wasn't as confusing as I thought it'd be. An FTP Client and (optional) putty to tunnel through your seebox to ensure your account gets upload credit.

Xirvik is a must have for those who are serious and dedicated seeders and can afford to pay a little extra. It might seem like more to pay.. but think about it this way.. you're actually paying for the customer service you get with the package.. not to mention there are some added extras.

I would also suggest.. if your tracker that you are with has an active IRC or even an IRC Channel at all (Which most do).. do some chatting with your fellow members.. chances are one of them will either have one or know someone that host some dedi's that they can slice out for you and get you going for really cheap. This is actually how I found my fastest seedbox.. 10gbps / 3 users / 500gb HDD per user / deluge, uTorrent, rutorrent / SSH, sftp, VNC and crazy amounts more! For what??? $45 usd a month!

So yeah, xirvik or ask members of your "Home" Tracker.. someone will give you an amazing deal!

what seedboxes are safe from the ever encroaching legal problems?

I would say serverscene.com. I have been using them for a long time, also alot of our site's content is hosted with them. They do say limits on the gbit boxes but we have never been limited even when we have exceeded the limits (by quite a bit some times)

Well it all depends what kind of budget you have but I can recommend http://dentoo.info because they are absolutely not expensive, rather cheap I would say, and give great performance. I and a few buddies are with them and we have no complaints. Plus support are pros educated guys. Best seedbox I had and I tried a few.
