A complete novice to Seedboxes = Help me understand it

Hi

As you can see I am new to this forum and new to world of torrenting and seeding. I was looking into renting a seedbox account for my torrents downloading

Basically my current internet provider speed is very slow and it takes times to download torrents. I was thinking of renting a seedbox to download torrents and then transfer the data to my local computer. Coronavirus has give me ample time to download and watch movies, shows etc.

Do you think this is possible? or should I rent a seedbox account just for this ?

Also I am not sure about the specs/terminology of these seedboxes ( traffic size, downloaded limit etc). What I should be looking for if I want a normal size space (500gb to 1TB) with unlimited downloading speed or traffice restrictions.

Any help would be much appreciated

Yes you can rent box just for this but if your speed is slow it will be slow when you are transfering data from box to your local computer too so it may not work like you wanted but yes you can.

I recommend you yo use seedboxes.cc. batbox is very good for your condition and also have plex media server support which you can watch movies in your box without downloading to your local computer. Plex media server installation is very easy and there is very simple how to do guide.

My 2cents: If you're ISP is slow,I'm guessing you might be also having power supply issue. So I would suggest you to let go of streaming capabilities. Focus more on storage space on your seedbox. Even if you've no power supply issues, with slow speed you may be able to stream only upto 480p without any pixelation/interruptions etc.
As you may already know: download overnight if that helps you improve speed.

What I should be looking for if I need unlimited downloading either on torrents or other way. I am looking at different plans but confuse in terminology

Does "Unmetered bandwidth" means unlimited downloading ?

yes you can download as much as you can as long as you have space in your seedbox.

Now Any suggestion about cheapest seadbox package ? I just want to try to download as much as possible and not to worry about ratios ?

I dont know cheap seedbox others will be more helpfull for you but even in seedbox sometimes you can not reach required ratio so use public tracker or becarefull.

I am not worried about building ratios . I just want to download torrents from website like RARBG, Iptorrent etc. I think they are public torrents

Noob question, is a seed box really necessary if you have fast internet?
Or is it just for those with slow internet?
What i mean by this is, are people with fast internet use a seedbox just to take load off their main internet traffic?

Seedbox is never necessary even for those who have slow internet connection but without it uploading too hard for the people who have slow speed.
Users who have fast connection uses it several reasons. One of them like you said they dont want to load their traffic. Another reason is security(DMCA). Another reason is seedbox seed torrents 24/7 at full speed.

There are many advantages on a seedbox but, those with slow internet do benefit way more than those with fast internet. Is it for both? Yes, it's for everybody and it wouldn't matter if internet is slow or fast as their use is diversy and will accomplish tasks that a normal PC can not. Like being on 24/7!

Well since i upgraded my internet speed i want to be more involved in torrenting,I was thinking of getting a seedbox, but i have my pc seeding 24/7 seeding.
Would not having a seedbox stop me from getting invited ton private trackers ?or considered as a bad thing in general.

Many have their PC's 24/7 and still have a seedbox, or 2...or more! And yeah, many also ask for seedbox to get invited to some trackers. My recommendation is to get one!

Actually no, a seedbox is more than welcome, at least from my experience so far. Some trackers ask you to register it (otherwise you could look like a cheater), but that's it. They always encourage you if you seed 24/7 and at good speeds.

every tracker i get invited i get without seedbox. Seedbox sometimes help you to get invite but not having seedbox dont decrease your chance to zero.

Yeah i see the benefits of having a seedbox and im gonna get one the more i get involved in torrenting.
However i guess i have to take a look on "which is the best seedbox" topic etc. which i guess people have their own preferences and recommendations.

What would you suggest is a good entry level seedbox. You know not so expensive or has tons of storage

I started with a pretty basic one, shared, approximately 1 TB of storage to see how it worked. Prices vary, but you'll end up paying 10-15 EUR / month. Sometimes providers offer an entry discount.

U have plenty of seedboxes renting choices around these days but if you run your own dedi server or even a cheap cloud vm u can setup your own seedbox there :)

IPT its not a public tracker neither TL etc you need to get invited all private trackers if u wont seed ull get banned public trackers are for ex piratebay and all those full of virus

How many seedboxes does an experienced user has?and how big?

There's no rule about this. It does not depends on the experience but on the needs/wants and of course the money each is willing to spend.

Yeah, it is of my understanding though that 1TB seedbox (which is the lowest anyone can get), is not gonna get you really far since it is gonna get filled relatively easy.
So i guess its 20+/e per month to get something worthy.

You can do wonders with 1TB if you know what you're after and do not hoard! Try the lowest and administer it well...you will suceed.

Both things mate. If you hoard (things you don't like or have a use to), then 1TB isn't enough. If you know what you're after (get what you like and have a use to) it will be more than enough.

It's always a good idea to build up ratio when you're new onto a tracker. There are different methods to do it, I'm pretty sure you already know the most basic one. But having a seedbox will help you in all aspects you can think of.

Stay away from "dediseedbox", they're a bunch of arrogant muthafuckas.

with 1 TB seedbox from seedboxes.cc in 1 month i uploaded total 10+ tb, 1+ tb for each tracker TL, IPT, BHD, speed.cd and couple of local trackers.

Isnt the general idea to download stuff to create a buffer and ratio and then use the seedbox to get the new torrents fast so you can build even mopre ratio?

To be honest with you, that's one of the basics thing you can do. It's far more important to follow the rules of the various trackers, you can perish on this journey even with a seedbox just because of abusing or ignoring, or take things for granted.

I was making an example of how you can perish, don't assume I was implying you abuse.

So with this said, just go and try yourself out with the trackers and seedboxes!
