Been using Wondershare for a while, but thanks to this thread, I might give a try another to one soon !

Handbrake for any batch movie converts that I need to do. Xilisoft Ultimate Converter or Adobe Premier if I'm editing/coverting smaller videos.

I use handbrake as well,do someone maybe know when i put passthru how to change bitrate of audio?I want bitrate to be more than auto

Avidemux is perfect if you need something small - like to cut a scene out to make a clip for Twitter&Instagram or turn an MKV into MP4. But it doesn't handle multiple audio tracks well.
ffmpeg for mass processing - for example, demuxing tracks, recoding everything into everything, it does it all, but it's a command line utility.

most of that software is just GUI for ffmpeg.
I sometimes use vlc, too.

I rarely use video converters, but when I do "and I'm no expert" I use xilisoft"

Tdarr is what I use for automated conversions but if you're talking about doing things manually then its got to be Handbrake. :captain:
