Some Surface Pro 7 pre-orders are arriving two weeks early
Earlier this month, Microsoft took the wraps off of the Surface Pro 7. The device was supposed to go on sale in the U.S. on October 22nd, which is when pre-orders were supposed to be delivered to buyers in the states. But some Redditors are showing photographic proof that they have already received the latest iteration of Microsoft's premium Windows-powered tablet. Imagine ordering the device, not expecting it to arrive for a couple of weeks, and arriving home to see that package sitting outside your front door. What a sweet feeling that must be!
What Microsoft delivered this year in the Surface Pro 7 is pretty much what we expected to see. The tablet is equipped with the same 12.3-inch display sporting a 2736 x 1824 resolution. Under the hood, Microsoft upgraded the processor to the 10th generation Intel Core i3, i5, and i7 from the eighth-generation Intel Core processors used by the Surface Pro 6. The new tablet is available in configurations starting with 4GB of memory, running as high as 16GB. SSD storage options range from 128GB to 1TB with prices starting at $749. And the Mini DisplayPort, as rumored, has been replaced by a Type-C port.
Microsoft also unveiled the Surface Pro X on October 2nd. This model carries a 13-inch display with a resolution of 2880 x 1920. The tablet is powered by a custom Microsoft SQ1 chip with ARM cores that was developed in conjunction with Qualcomm. It features the Adreno 685 GPU. Memory options are 8GB/16GB and the SSD storage options include 128GB, 256GB and 512GB. The tablet is equipped with a 10MP rear-facing camera and a 5MP front-facing camera with Windows Hello face authentication. Dolby stereo speakers are on board. This model starts at $999 and shipping commences on November 5th.
Meanwhile, if you've pre-ordered the Surface Pro 7, don't be surprised if it is shipped to you way before the expected release date.
