One variant of Surface Pro 7 rumored to sport ARM chips, 4G LTE connectivity

On October 2nd, Microsoft will hold a new product event and we expect to see the software giant unveil the next iteration of its Windows-powered premium tablet, the Surface Pro 7. So far, the biggest leak revolved around the Surface Pro 7's alleged configurations. The models listed were all powered by the 10th-generation Intel Core processors, which was surprising since previous talk suggested that some of the tablets would be equipped with an ARM-based chipset known as the Snapdragon 8cx. But it seems like this mystery has been cleared up.

Today, some fresh new rumors related to the Surface Pro 7 were published by Frandroid (via Windows Central). After claiming to have seen some of the designs for the Surface products that will be unwrapped at the upcoming event, Frandroid says that the Surface Pro 7 line will actually be comprised of two different versions. The tablet with the codename "Campus" is nearly bezel-less, except for the top and bottom bezels. These are a bit larger since the top border houses a facial recognition camera and a magnet for the optional Type Cover QWERTY keyboard is housed in the bottom border. The miniDisplayPort is replaced by a Type-C port and the overall look is said to be similar to the Apple iPad Pro. This version of the Surface Pro 7 is said to be powered by an ARM-based chip and does support 4G LTE connectivity.

The "Harper" variant of the Surface Pro 7 will keep the Intel Core processors (again, most likely the 10th generation) and the previous look of the tablet which means larger bezels than the ARM-powered models. One change from the "Campus" variant will stick on the "classic" Surface Pro 7; that's the replacement of the miniDisplayPort with a Type-C port. Still, the proprietary Surface Connect charging system remains on board.

So now we have an idea why there are conflicting rumors about the Surface Pro 7. Any confusion should be all cleared up this coming Wednesday.
