The Callisto Protocol is less than a week away and the hype is building up for this spiritual successor to Dead Space, created by Glen Scholfield. The Callisto Protocol is raising the bar for intense, and brutal survival horror in an immense story campaign. But there are additional modes and story content with the upcoming season pass.

The season pass will be available to all those who buy the Digital Deluxe version of the game, which includes additional story DLC (details are not yet known), an increased difficulty on offer with fewer resources and tougher enemies and most important of all, permadeath! There is also a wave-based game mode where players fight numerous enemies (much like Gears of War's horde mode), the Riot Bundle, and the Outer Way skin collection.

The Contagion Bundle presents a tougher version of the game, where ammo is heavily reduced, fewer health drops, and feature permadeath. This is the ultimate challenge for those willing to dare enter Black Iron Prison with no hope of survival. There will also be 13 brand-new death animations for Jacob, the story's protagonist.

There were some concerns that content was cut for The Callisto Protocol, but creative director Glen Scholfield cleared up the matter with a tweet that read as followed:

“We haven’t even started work on this content yet. It’s all new stuff that we’ll be working on in the new year. Fans have asked for EVEN MORE deaths, so we’re making it a priority next year.”

The Callisto Protocol will be shipped as a full game on December 2nd, with nothing cut. The season pass content is still in the works and is currently under development post-launch of the base game.

In addition to new skins and the Contagion Bundle, the season pass will also introduce the Riot Bundle which is the waved-based mode, where Jacob will have you face hordes of enemies. Additionally, the Riot Bundle will have 12 new death animations and feature the Engineer skin collection for players to equip.

Players looking for extra content can pre-purchase the Digital Deluxe version of the game and expect to hear further updates when the new content is due to drop in the near future.
