PlayerLands lets server owners create in-game shops

PlayerLands has just been revealed as a brand new platform to allow developers to make online shops in easier and more manageable ways. Entrepeneur and affiliate marketing specialist Alex Booth is one of the people behind PlayerLands, and explains that it started life as "a plug-in, one which is very easy to install on a game server."

"It lets server owners make player-friendly shops in their games. They can sell items, subscriptions, DLC, put sales on, offer discounts and essentially run a commercial enterprise from that server," he continues.

It's meant to be an ecosystem for developers, publishers, and server owners, as elaborated by fellow founder Nick Gillett. It allows server owners to monetise games, and has just been revealed as a finalist for Tech Nation's Rising Star category for promising startups in tech.

Mercia Technologies has provided an initial investment of £200,000, and the beta rollout for PlayerLands is coming soon, along with key partner announcements, another round of investments, and more.

"We also help developers and server owners market their games to new players, introduce them to the right YouTubers and influencers, and share success stories from our community to help them grow their businesses and enjoy even greater success," the press release adds.
