Fortnite's New Single-Player Vehicle Is A Giant Hamster Ball
Keeping up its usual trend of making each season wackier and wilder than ever, Season 8 of Fortnite is adding even more to its goodie bag of surprises. We already know that Season 8 is going to have pirates as its focus, but what we didn't know at the time of the season launching was that the new single-player vehicle previously teased by Epic Games would be a hamster ball.
There have been a number of changes to the way that vehicles operate in the latest season. For one, planes have been removed in Season 8 to make way for quality-of-life improvements like the Party Assist feature, and overhauls to Save the World. On top of all of that, a Fortnite hamster ball looks to be the latest addition to an already packed Season of content, although it remains to be seen how it will be implemented fully.
After an AMA on Reddit from Epic Games revealed that there would be a new single-player vehicle in Season 8, it's now been leaked in a tweet by Twitter user FNBRLeaks that the secret vehicle is, in fact, a Fortnite hamster ball. It will also, quite aptly, be named The Baller. The dataminers who dug up this information didn't reveal the date that The Baller would be released, but a likely candidate would be the upcoming patch that is going to drop later on this week.
The Fortnite hamster ball looks like a lot of fun to zip around the island in. We're uncertain about the circumstances in which it'll be used or made available to players during matches, but just the look of the thing is pretty sleek. Popular Fortnite dataminer, Lucas7Yoshi, has also revealed on Twitter that the hamster balls appear to have charging bases, which could mean that they're going to be available on particular stations dotting the map, which could create some interesting strategic decisions for players looking for a mobility advantage.
There have been a lot of cool additions so far to Season 8 of Fortnite, and this vehicle definitely has the potential to be another one of them. On top of the pirates, the updated locations, pets, and the new challenges that players can look forward to, this Fortnite hamster ball just looks like icing on the cake for Epic Game's popular title.
